Thankfully for us, the word of God is not chained by the social media algorithms! We have the gospel, which we have heard through many witnesses. We remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David. And through our baptism in Christ, we have been claimed as a member of God's family, and we have the firm foundation that “The Lord knows those who are his.”
Our calling now, like Timothy's, is to endure, so that we will also reign with Jesus. Like Timothy, we are to entrust what we have heard to faithful people who will be able to teach others as well. We are to do our best to present ourselves to God as those approved by him, workers who have no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth. And we are to strive to become special utensils in the household of God, dedicated and useful to the owner of the house, ready for every good work.
Gracious God, help us to disentangle from everyday affairs, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, in Jesus' name....
